No matter how long you’ve been working online, you can always learn something new.
This week, I was fortunate to discover two things I didn’t know: A dirty little secret about email engagement and a little known perk of Amazon affiliates, and I’m sharing them both with you today, feisty kitten!
Recently, I spoke to a friend who’s killing it in the email marketing game, and while he found some amusement in just how excited I was about the rapid growth of my mailing list, he did express concern at the two emails that were never opened, and a few that had to be scrubbed.
He told me that disinterested people on your list, or people who put in a fake email address, can really do harm to the growth of your email list and overall business strategy.
I was pretty surprised to find out that no matter how great your copy, or how exciting your offer is, it takes a few under the hood mechanics to make sure you’re creating a solid foundation for growing your business with a clear email strategy
One of the biggest issues?
Mistyped email addresses from people typing tiny letters, on a tiny keyboard, on their mobile devices.
Update 7/28/21: Fake Emails Can Hurt Your Business & Cost You Customers
So, What Are The Odds I’d Ever Buy From This Guy Again?
Did you know you can be paid commission from the same Amazon buyer over and over again, even beyond the initial 24-hours period after click?
Amazon affiliate program pays you commission from all the products people purchase within a 24 hours period after clicking on your affiliate link.
It means that no matter which product you promote, you will be paid commission from all other products they buy during the entire day.
The problem is, unless the person clicks your affiliate link again, after a 24 hours period, no more commissions…
…unless you have a list of amazon buyers 🙂
I am so excited about the launch of the Shine! Mini course (on getting your business or podcast noticed in a noisy world), and had been looking for a way to connect and engage with new customers across multiple platforms.
The goal was to build an audience of solopreneurs and digital creators excited about creating a work from anywhere lifestyle.
I also wanted to meet these multi-talented, highly creative future business titans, share really valuable info and resources, and do it without distracting them from the valuable work they’re already doing.
While it is easier for people to type the name and the email on a desktop, you are still facing an uphill battle, not only because some people will just not take the effort, but many are entering either fake, mistyped or throw away email addresses.
I, for one, got tired of losing out. You can sign up for the weekly ezine to see the case study on how I turned things around.
